Award-Winning License Plate Recognition Technology to be Offered as Integrated Feature in Industry-Leading Security Products

Oldsmar, FL (PRWEB) January 15, 2014

PlateSmart Technologies today announced a new integration partnership with OnSSI (https://www.onssi.com), a leading manufacturer of Video Management Systems (VMS) for security applications. The PlateSmart team, working with OnSSI, has succeeded in integrating its software-only License Plate Recognition (LPR) solutions with OnSSI video surveillance products.

The partnership is the culmination of many months of collaboration between PlateSmart and OnSSI, both long recognized as leaders in the security technology industry. As a result, OnSSI will now be able to offer PlateSmart LPR integration as an added feature in its key product lines, such as the Ocularis VMS. The PlateSmart software allows any camera in an OnSSI surveillance system to be an LPR camera, continually capturing all license plates that pass through its view and providing metadata to the OnSSI system on each plate capture including plate number, state jurisdiction, date and time, latitude and longitude, plate image, and any triggered alerts.

This announcement marks the beginning of another promising year for PlateSmart, which was recently honored with the 2013 Technology Innovation Leadership Award in License Plate Recognition from Frost and Sullivan. PlateSmart founder and CEO John Chigos said, “PlateSmart is extremely excited to add OnSSI to its growing list of industry-leading partners. This new relationship continues to show PlateSmart’s leadership position in the LPR marketplace. We will continue to work diligently in our product development to ensure that we remain the industry leader going forward and continue to offer OnSSI and all of our partners the very best LPR technology available.”

“License Plate Recognition is in high demand for increasing the capabilities of surveillance systems, making it a logical addition to expand current Ocularis functionality,” said Gadi Piran, President, and CTO, OnSSI. “We are pleased to be working with PlateSmart Technologies in our ongoing endeavor to create more value for Ocularis users.”
