PlateSmart and Geutebrück Showcase Partnership at ISC West
It’s been almost a year since PlateSmart Technologies’ ARES automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) software was fully integrated with Geutebrück’s video management software (VMS). Now both companies — pioneers in their respective fields — are making ready to demo that integration in Geutebrück booth #24099 at ISC West in Las Vegas.
“Increased threats of crime and terrorism is driving the need for air-tight physical security,” said Mike Budz, director of sales, PlateSmart. “Geutebrück VMS users will now be able to keep their facilities even safer with the PlateSmart ARES ALPR. Every camera connected to the VMS can be used to scan passing license plates and compare them to known people of interest, terminated employees, or any hot list the customer creates.”
The integration allows PlateSmart ARES to trigger alarms within the Geutebrück VMS as well as real-time viewing of the alerts. PlateSmart ARES captures license plate number, state jurisdiction, vehicle make, time and date stamps, and GPS location. Future releases of the ALPR will add the ability to detect vehicle class — sedan, SUV, truck, etc.
“Adding ALPR to an existing security system used to mean retrofitting the entire system — an extremely cost-prohibitive proposition,” Budz said. “Now that Geutebrück and PlateSmart are working together, customers can add our award-winning ALPR solution to it without having to rip and replace any equipment — and without breaking the bank.”
