PlateSmart ALPR Solution Now Fully Integrated with Milestone XProtect Platform

Game-Changing Automatic License Plate Recognition Enhancement for Industry-Leading VMS to Be Showcased at MIPS 2016 Event

PlateSmart Technologies, creator of the world’s leading intelligent video analytics solutions based on Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR), is pleased to announce that its groundbreaking ALPR technology is now available as a fully integrated feature in Milestone Systems’ XProtect Video Management Software (VMS). PlateSmart and Milestone, both longtime pioneers in their respective fields, will debut this revolutionary new functionality at the Milestone Integration Platform Symposium (MIPS) event for 2016, which is being held February 22nd-25th in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The need for the most advanced physical security technology available is increasing around the world as the twin threats of crime and terrorism continue to grow. With PlateSmart ALPR installed, Milestone XProtect users will be able to use any camera connected to the VMS to scan passing license plates and compare them to criminal hotlists for active wants or warrants. PlateSmart’s plate capture and alert history are directly accessible from within the XProtect Smart Client software. Additionally, all alerts are sent to XProtect in the form of metadata, which allows alarm triggering from within XProtect. All PlateSmart license plate captures include plate number, state jurisdiction, vehicle make and color, time and date stamps, and GPS location. Future releases of the software will add the ability to detect vehicle class (sedan, SUV, truck, etc.) All of these features are available at the most competitive price point in the marketplace.
