Respected Tampa-based Integrator Introduces Pioneering Video Analytics Software to City Surveillance

PlateSmart, the creator of the world’s first software-only solutions for License Plate Recognition (LPR), announced today that Tampa-based Rapid Systems (https://www.rapidsys.com) has joined the Company’s Channel Partner program. The two companies will work together to provide the state of the art in surveillance systems incorporating PlateSmart’s groundbreaking LPR-based video analytics software.

The first collaboration between PlateSmart and Rapid Systems is a brand new cutting-edge citywide surveillance network for a city in Florida. Currently, in the installation phase, the system is expected to go online in a matter of weeks. Designed around PlateSmart’s wholly-owned ARES video analytics software and utilizing cameras by Samsung (https://www.samsung.com), the city’s surveillance system will provide constant, real-time LPR functionality from any camera in the network. All LPR captures will be instantly compared to law enforcement databases for active wants or warrants, and each capture will be date- and time-stamped and include GPS coordinates and an image of the plate. The ARES feature set also includes a web-based reporting center, which will allow city law enforcement personnel to perform comprehensive data mining for pattern recognition and predictive policing efforts.

The software-only nature of ARES means that PlateSmart and Rapid Systems can provide such customized LPR-based video surveillance at the most cost-effective price point possible. PlateSmart founder and CEO John Chigos said, “Working with Rapid Systems, we’re showing the power and possibilities of PlateSmart’s video analytics solutions for public and private organizations. ARES can provide any city, business, or government agency with a kind of security that hasn’t been possible before now. It truly is the future.”

Dustin Jurman, CEO of Rapid Systems, said, “PlateSmart’s solution is an incredibly powerful addition to any law enforcement’s network. Their solution adds the flexibility, accuracy, and lightning-fast integration allowing public safety initiatives to be deployed for a variety of ever-changing environments.”

PlateSmart is the recipient of a 2014 Platinum Govies Award from Security Products Magazine and a 2013 Technology Innovation Leadership Award from Frost & Sullivan. More information about the Company and its solutions are available at https://www.platesmart.com.
