PlateSmart to Unveil LPR Engine for High Definition Cameras at IACP Show in Orlando

PlateSmart News

The latest innovation from an award-winning LPR maker offers a lower deployment footprint and higher ROI.

PlateSmart Technologies, the creator of the world’s first software-only solutions for License Plate Recognition (LPR), will be showcasing its groundbreaking new LPR engine at the IACP Conference in Orlando. The new engine, which features support for High Definition (HD) surveillance cameras, promises to be a major advancement in security technology.

PlateSmart’s new HD engine supports surveillance cameras with resolutions of 2, 3, and 5 megapixels, which brings a multitude of benefits for end-users. At the higher resolutions, it becomes possible to record a wide-angle overview of an area while simultaneously scanning all plates that pass through the frame. This provides a maximum of situational awareness from a single camera. Other benefits of PlateSmart’s HD support include single-camera LPR scanning of multiple lanes of traffic. This inherently smaller deployment footprint means substantial cost savings and a dramatically increased Return on Investment for users. It is especially ideal for citywide monitoring, which benefits greatly from a reduced presence of cameras in public areas.

High-definition LPR capability is the latest innovation in what has already been a banner year for PlateSmart. Earlier this year, the Company’s ARES software became the first and only LPR solution to be embedded directly in surveillance cameras as an onboard app as part of a collaboration with tech giant Samsung. Meanwhile, PlateSmart continues to secure new contracts for its solutions with government agencies and private companies alike.

The IACP Conference, which is presented by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, plays host annually to a number of the top decision-makers in the field of law enforcement and is considered by many in the security industry to be a must-attend show. As PlateSmart founder and CEO John Chigos noted, “The IACP Conference is a great opportunity for us to show the law enforcement community the latest and greatest technology designed to help them do their jobs and to keep them safe.”

This year’s IACP Conference runs from October 25th through the 28th in Orlando, Florida. PlateSmart will be exhibiting in booth 930.
