New ARES 3.0 enterprise-grade ALPR Takes Platinum at ISC East

OLDSMAR, Fla. — January 1st, 2022 — PlateSmart Technologies announced today that it had done it again after the company’s ARES® 3.0 enterprise-grade automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) solution earned a Platinum Award at American Security Today’s 2021 ASTORS Homeland Security Awards. The awards were presented at the ISC East tradeshow in New York City.

The award makes PlateSmart a winner of six consecutive ASTOR awards, having been recognized in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 with gold and platinum ASTORS awards for best-of-breed LPR solutions.

“ARES 3.0 represents a quantum leap forward in ALPR scalability and vehicle intelligence,” said Kathleen Chigos, president, PlateSmart. “No matter the number of cameras or how widely they are dispersed – even across entire states – users have access to unparalleled data about the vehicles traveling throughout the areas they are monitoring. This allows them to make smarter decisions about everything from parking to security.

“After all of the hard work from everyone at PlateSmart in developing ARES 3.0, we are grateful for this recognition from the ASTORS judges.”

ARES 3.0 starts with ALPR, driven by cutting-edge AI and deep learning, and ends by delivering unprecedented vehicle analytics. The system captures the license plate and jurisdiction as well as the vehicle make and color, and then delivers powerful analytical tools to make smarter decisions:

  • See how traffic flows into and out of your community or facility
  • Identify potential criminal behavior
  • Search for vehicles by a variety of attributes, times, and locations
  • Ensure accountability with full auditing capabilities

One aspect that makes ARES 3.0 superior is that it offers near-unlimited scalability, making it ideal whether monitoring three cameras or 3000+. As always, the software integrates with top video management systems (VMS) such as Milestone, IPConfigure, Exacq, and others. And it’s capable of integrating with virtually any third-party software solution, offering customers enhanced functionality via ALPR.

Part of the power of ARES 3.0 is the software’s ability to narrow down the vehicle data you collect to just the right portion to analyze. It does this with comprehensive searching and filtering tools:

  • Look for vehicles within a specific date range
  • Narrow down your search by specific times of day that you choose
  • Choose any of the plate and vehicle attributes to filter results
  • Identify cameras or groups of cameras to search only their feeds

The best part is that you can mix and match any of these tools for virtually unlimited search combinations. The end result is time saved and answers received.

About PlateSmart®

PlateSmart Technologies developed the original software-only license plate recognition (LPR) solution, PlateSmart ARES®, which is compatible with virtually all video management systems (VMS) and IP cameras. Designed to function as a stand-alone tool or integrate with third-party software and hardware, PlateSmart ARES provides near-real-time actionable vehicle intelligence for complete situational awareness.
